INSERT PHOTOS OF GRANDFATHER AND FATHER
My grandfather and father were avid amateur photographers and passed on their love of photography to me. My first camera was a Brownie Box camera. By my teens I was using a Ricoh 16 to take photos of field trips in high school.
My husband, Patrick, introduced me to a Pentax Spotmatic and I was hooked. With the advent of the heavy Beta video cameras, Pat became the family photographer and the Pentax was put on the shelf for many years as the children grew up.
In 2001, I opened the Country Mouse Scrapbooker in rural Manitoba and helped my clients document their family histories in memory albums until 2007, when I became a Snowbird.
I joined the Ajijic Society of the Arts and entered their annual Judged Show with my photographs. In 2015, Caballero won First Prize, in 2016, Principe del Camino Real won Second Prize, and this year, 2018, Extreme Jeans won Second Prize.

Over the years I studied painting with several artists in Ajijic, most notably the renowned artist, Javier Zaragoza. At sixteen he painted a panoramic mural in the Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos Cathedral and painted huge billboards for movie studios in Hollywood before returning to his hometown of Ajijic to paint and teach.

In 2014 I took my first Zentangle lesson with the thought that it would be a nice element to add to my digital and physical scrapbooking pages. However, I soon saw ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) everywhere. In 2017, Los Pescados won 3rd prize in Pastels and Drawing at the Ajijic Society of the Arts Judged Show.
